The 2010 Yorktown Varsity Team has been recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for the twelfth highest team weighted GPA in the nation (3.888), and first in Virginia!!
This is the fifth year in a row that the YHS varsity softball team has been named to the All Academic Team by NFCA. Last year (2009), we were ranked 7th nationwide and first in Virginia, with a weighted GPA of 4.021. The 2008 YHS team was ranked 6th nationwide and first in Virginia, with a weighted GPA of 3.960. The 2007 Yorktown team was ranked 13th nationwide and 1st in Virgina, with a weighted GPA of 3.780. In 2006, the Patriots were ranked 22nd in the country, with a weighted GPA of 3.58.
